Between 2001 and 2009, Doug Johns was the CEO of Bradley Nuttall Christchurch. In 2009, Doug and his wife Lynette, moved to Nelson and set up Bradley Nuttall Nelson limited. Independently owned and operated, Bradley Nuttall Nelson provides fee only, financial planning and investment advice to both individuals and couples, as well as a variety of trust structures. Offering a tailored service, we believe that every client’s needs are different, and we will work closely with you to plan for your future.
Being a locally owned and operated company, we pride ourselves on our personalised, relationship-based business model, offering a select, flexible and discerning service for individual situations.
Meet The Team
With a wealth of senior management, investment, and advisory experience, Doug has the industry knowledge and ‘know-how’ to help you achieve your financial goals.
After a successful career in corporate banking, including Funds Management with the BNZ Financial Services Group and heading Credit for Trust Bank New Zealand Limited, Doug joined the Bradley Nuttall team in 2000, bringing with him 30 years’ experience in financial services.
Now as Founder and Managing Director of Bradley Nuttall Nelson, Doug provides expert investment advice with a focus on careful growth, and putting his clients first, every time. He is based in the Nelson region and services clients nationwide.
Doug will work with you to create an investment portfolio based on academic rigour and total independence.

Lynette joined Bradley Nuttall in 2008, and moved with Doug to the Nelson office in 2009. As Client Services Manager, Lynette is often a first point of contact for clients based throughout New Zealand.
Lynette’s role also includes office administration and compliance, ensuring industry best practice standards in all areas of business operations.
Lynette holds a Degree in Education, a Diploma in Human Resource Management and a National Certificate in financial Services (Financial Advice) Level 5.
Lynette loves the outdoors and exploring the beautiful National Parks in the Nelson/ Tasman region. Lynette also enjoys landscape oil painting, having recently discovered a talent in this area.
Lynette offers a warm and friendly approach, and has a desire to establish long term, personalised relationships with all clients.

Damon has 14 years’ experience in the wealth management industry, and is a Chartered Financial Analyst. Damon’s career path has included exposure to a boutique wealth management firm, a national advisory dealer group and a ‘fund of hedge funds’ company. Working in these differing businesses has provided him with a unique perspective across the wider investment and advisory industry in New Zealand.
He has a B Comm. majoring in Economics and Operations Research from University of Canterbury and, after joining the wealth management industry, went on to complete a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies (Personal Financial Planning) through Massey University

Ben has worked in the wealth management industry for seven years. Prior to moving to New Zealand, Ben was Chief Operating Officer at Index Fund Advisors, an advisory firm with $2.2 billion of funds under advice. His career has also seen him undertake the role of senior economic consultant, and economic manager for the Qatar Economic Free Zones.
Ben is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary AIF©) and has a BA in History and Economics from University of California.
Dr Bart Frijns
Dr Bart Frijns is a Professor of Finance at AUT and the Director of the Auckland Centre for Financial Research.
Since obtaining his PhD in Finance from Maastricht University in 2004, Dr Frijns has undertaken empirical research on topics ranging from the impact of regulations on financial markets, to volatility dynamics and price setting behaviour.
His research has been published in leading international journals and he is a regular speaker at international finance conferences.
Dr Frijns is also a Financial Risk Manager certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals and a Senior Affiliate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
